Universe Expanding. True?
Lets talk some heavy matter lightly. You have read some Physics and heard on news that the Universe is expanding. But you find it difficult to imagine and think of its prospects.
Lets start from abc. I convince you to believe that the universe ( not life, not matter.. something .. just assume something) started from NOTHING to EVERYTHING by a Big Bang. All matter was created then and never later (don't think of Einstein's equation now). Big Bang was really a great bang in which matter was created and some infinite galaxies were produced. Somewhere were we. Someone named our galaxy Milky Way. Everything cooled and our Greatest Fathers (first Human) were born. So started life and is continuing still.
Well scientists say , "The Universe is expanding " .. lets talk about it a bit. First learn something about Doppler Effect from here : http://physics.about.com/od/lightoptics/a/doplight.htm
Now you know if something goes away from the observer, then the perceived frequency is different.."Decreased". So if you imagine that the universe is expanding .. i.e. its extremity is moving away.. the light coming from the farthest point should seem to have lesser frequency i.e. greater wavelength. So it would seem that the white light would turn Reddish.. scientists termed this "Redshift" .. so this "Cosmological Redshift would amply prove that the universe is accelerating and expanding.
